Nedbank Group Finance Golf Day
Now in its fourth year, the annual Group Finance Charity Golf Day is the major fund-raiser for the Leading for Deep Green committee. Thanks to the generous involvement of our sponsors, we have been able to raise funds which support our initiatives in the community and our environment for the subsequent twelve months. In 2013 we will once again have a full field of 128 golfers tee-ing up at the beautiful Houghton Golf Club. This will be followed by a dinner and auction in the evening, the proceeds of which also all go towards our charitable causes.
Charity supported:
The Leading for Deep Green committee supports a number of charities over the course of the year. We seek to support those charities where staff can get involved, and we do not simply write out a cheque. For example, this year saw many staff, both men and women, knitting scarves for a crèche in Diepsloot. We also try to partner with our vendors where possible. Some of the charities who have benefited this year are:
· Matla Combined School
· Ronwe Primary School in Paarl, with assistance from Waltons
· Mohau crèche in Diepsloot, in partnership with Top-Turf
· Hong Ning Old Age Home
· Thusunang Aids / HIV Relief Project in Slovoville (first visited by L4DG in 2007)
· Society for the Blind in Rose Acre, Johannesburg.
· Barking Mad and PETS (Pet Empowerment in Townships), in conjunction with The IQ-Group
